I've never ever been in a carriage. I used to plead with my mother when I lived in Austria but she never gave in. I tend to think that horses could have a better life.

@ Francisca - No, I agree with ciel and tapirgal. I can imagine better things for a horse than pulling a carriage in the traffic of Rome.
